Mad About Manners Middle School Ladies 2022
Mad About Manners is a 4 day Saturday afternoon program designed to promote social awareness. This program covers good communication skills with peers and adults, the more-important-than-ever subject of appearance, advanced table manners, dance lessons and more.
Middle School can be tough. Girls and guys are not only going through lots of physical changes, they are faced with making hard choices too. Our Mad About Manners series helps to build confidence so your adolescents can feel good about who they are becoming and the decisions they make.
Class Details:
Ladies Only Meetings Time: 1pm - 2pm - Sundays-Feb/20, Feb/27, Mar/06
Coed Meeting: 1pm - 3pm, Sunday, March 13th
Grades: 7th & 8th Grade Ladies

Effective Communication
Effective communication with peers, teachers and parents and through cell phone, social media and internet use. What's appropriate, what's not? Proper Introductions, the handshake, the importance of eye contact and thank you notes.
Appearance and Hygiene
Appropriate dress, posture, and what it means to take care of our bodies from the inside out. Discussion and videos from how eating certain foods make us feel to the messages we send when we dress the way we do. Girls will enjoy getting make-up tips from a local artist. The importance of developing their own "brand".
Social Behavior
Facing the road ahead: Focusing on how to present oneself to others, we will combine communication skills with appearance and practice exercises that build confidence in social settings. Other important topics covered include Good Sportsmanship and Bullying. We will have discussion on various topics like what social distancing looks like in today's world.
Dinner and Dancing
The last Saturday will be a 2-hour boys and girls class. They will enjoy a 4-course meal while practicing their best table manners. Instruction on table behavior and the proper use of utensils and napkins provided. They will then spend an hour with a local dance instructor for dance lessons.
